Mehdi Sahabi, writer, translator, painter, sculptor and photographer was born in Qazvin in 1322. After primary and secondary education in Tehran and obtaining a mathematics diploma, he studied in the same city at the Academy of Decorative Arts and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
Sahabi started working with journalism, acting, photography and similar works in the artistic fields and finally turned to literature, painting and translating the world’s most important literary works. He translated many works from English, French and Italian into Farsi. The translation of the famous and voluminous novel “In Search of Lost Time” by Marcel Proust, a French writer, is one of his most important works in the field of translation. The novel The Death of Artemio Cruz by Carlos Fontes, Madame Bovary and The Education of Emotions by Gustave Flaubert and The Mountain of God by Ari DeLuca are among the works of this
